KINETIC TYPE ANIMATION

The assignment goal was to create a 20 second animation for a brand of our choosing, focusing on kinetic typography. The concept behind the animation for Patagonia is a down-to-earth, hand-done look, instead of something commercial and flashy. The animated typography, colored in yellow to contrast the background video, is initially revealed by a butterfly traveling around the earth. The animation promotes the statement “Buy Less, Demand More” focusing on the durability of Patagonia’s products; a video to promote the viewer to be environmentally conscious instead of simply buying more products. This animation was specifically designed for social media platforms such as Instagram. All type and imagery was hand-drawn in Procreate with risograph textured pens.
